Man Found With Stolen Car, Burglary Tools: Police Blotter

THURSDAY, JUNE 6

Burglary From Balcony?

Someone took a video game console and a video game from an unsecured apartment on the 1700 block of East 22nd Street. The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. June 5 and noon June 6.

The tenant was not home during the first two hours of the time window, but the sliding glass door was left unlocked, according to a police report. The apartment is located on the second floor and it is possible to climb up the balcony. The console and game are valued at $300 total.

Warrant Arrest

Police arrested Michael J. King, 26, of the 5800 block of Etzel Street, St. Louis, Mo., on an outstanding DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear in court in connection with criminal trespass and assault charges. King was taken into custody at 3:48 p.m. at Devonshire and Castlewood. He was then transferred to the DuPage County Jail, where he was later released.


$400 and TV Taken

Someone took a $250 32-inch TV and $400 from an apartment on the 1600 block of Briarcliffe Boulevard. The incident occurred during a 30-min. period that began at noon. The unknown suspect entered the ground-floor unit through the unlocked sliding glass patio door, according to a report.

Felony Stolen Motor Vehicle Possession

Police charged Miguel Santiago, 26, of the 1900 block of North California, Chicago, with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and felony possession of burglary tools. Santiago was arrested at 2:05 a.m. at Lorraine and Roosevelt Road. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and then transferred to the DuPage County Jail, where he was later released.

SUNDAY, JUNE 2

Theft of Mislaid Property

Police charged Phyllis M. McGlathery, 64, of the 1000 block of North Cherry Street in Wheaton with theft of mislaid property. McGlathery was arrested at 9 p.m. on her block and then released from the scene, according to police.
