Wheaton College Billy Graham Center Archival Research Lecture

Each year the Billy
Graham Center Archival Research Lecture features a scholar describing his or
her recent discoveries in the BGC Archives. This year, Dr. Tu Yichao will
deliver a lecture titled "Panda Huggers and Dragon Killers: Billy Graham,
American Evangelicals, and Sino-American Relations."

Yichao is an assistant
researcher at Fudan University's Center for American Studies. Her research
interests include Religion and International Relations, Religion and Politics
in the US and History of Christianity in China.

Using Billy Graham as a
case study, Yichao will lecture on the role American evangelicals have played
in the recent history of Sino-American relations. In addition to the lecture,
there will be an exhibit of photos and other materials from the Archives'
holdings reflecting Billy and Ruth Graham's relationship with China. A
reception sponsored by the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals
will follow.
