Grand Jury Indicts Man in Child Pornography Case
Wheaton police arrested Liviu Babei in May.
A grand jury this week indicted a Glen Ellyn man on four counts of aggravated possession of child pornography in case that originated with an arrest by Wheaton police.
Liviu Babei, 44, is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges during a June 25 hearing. Babei is free on $200,000 bail.
Police arrested Babei as part of an investigation earlier this year that turned up images of young girls engaged in various sex acts. As part of his release from jail, Babei was placed on GPS monitoring, required to surrender cameras and video equipment and ordered to stay away from anyone under 18, court records show.

Last month, a judge denied Babei's request to travel to Romania, but did grant supervised visits with a 14 year old from Romania staying at Babei's home, according to documents.
