5 Charged With DUI: Police Blotter

Wheaton police reports, May 11-19

SUNDAY, MAY 19

DUI, No License

Police charged Humberto Banuelas, 40, of the 1200 block of Kings Court, West Chicago, with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license. Banuelas was driving a white 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander at 2:04 a.m. at Gables and Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop. Banuelas was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

DUI Alcohol

Police charged Rory B. Smith, 57, of the 800 block of 72nd Street, Downers Grove, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Smith was arrested at 12:02 a.m. at Main Street and Willow while driving a red 2001 Honda, according to a police report. Smith was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

SATURDAY, MAY 18

DUI Alcohol

Police charged Jesus M. Palacios, 25, of the 100 block of Harding Drive, Glendale Heights, with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended. Palacios was driving a blue 1994 Ford Ranger at 2:35 a.m. at Chase and Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop. Palacios was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

THURSDAY, MAY 16

DUI, Suspended License

Police charged Gregory L. Bella, 48, of the 4000 block of Heron Court, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Bella was driving a black 2009 Dodge Charger at 7:28 p.m. at Cross and Seminary when police initiated a traffic stop. Bella was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

THURSDAY, MAY 16

Warrant Arrest

Police arrested Rickey J. Barnes, 46, of the 100 block of Elk Trail, Carol Stream,  on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear in court on a drug paraphernalia incident. Barnes was arrested at 7:08 p.m. at Lambert and Roosevelt Road, police said. He was transferred to the DuPage County Jail and later released.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15

Driving While License Suspended

Police charged Leticia C. Leon with driving on a suspended license. Leon was driving a black 2008 Ford Focus at Butterfield Road and Cromwell Drive at 7:54 p.m. when police initiated a traffic stop. Leon also had an outstanding DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear in court on traffic offenses. She was transferred to the DuPage County Jail and later released.

Warrant Arrest

Police arrested Levi C. Smith, 20, of the 4300 block of Nutmeg Lane, Lisle, on an Illinois State Police warrant for traffic offenses. Smith was arrested at 1 a.m. at County Farm Road and Fapp, police said. He was transferred to the DuPage County Jail and later released.

TUESDAY, MAY 14

DUI Alcohol

Police charged Christian T. Alsing, 24, of the 300 block of Blackfoot Drive, Bolingbrook, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Alsing was driving a green 1999 Honda Accord at 1:25 a.m. on the 200 block of East Illinois when police initiated a traffic stop. Alsing was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
