94-Year-Old World War II Veteran Honored With Six Combat Medals

After the war, Frank Andrews never received the medals he earned at Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge.

A 94-year-old World War II veteran was honored at Cantigny Park in Wheaton Sunday  with six medals he earned while serving in Europe but never received. Fellow soldiers and friends and family surrounded Private 1st Class Frank Andrews as a brigadier General pinned on him the medals, including the Purple Heart. Andrews, who lives in Chicago, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day.
