Cuban Pastor to Speak at Hope Church Next Week

Visit to Hope Presbyterian Church in Wheaton is scheduled Sept. 15.

The Rev. Jose Alberto Padin Martinez, pastor of  La Fernanda Presbyterian Church, Havana, Cuba, will be in Wheaton to speak at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.


The public is invited to hear the message of this minister from Hope’s sister church in Cuba.


La Fernanda Presbyterian Church became the ninth church of the Havana Presbytery on Jan. 14, 2009, with a small group of members, a consistory of two Presbyterian leaders and Martinez. Today, the church has 42 members, a six-member boards of deacons, a Sunday worship service attendance with an average of 20 members, a Saturday Bible school for children with an average attendance of 20 children, and a Wednesday Bible study with an average attendance of 20 people.
