My personal fixation is music. I cover album reviews, interviews and concerts for The Big Takeover magazine, and blog a top ten list for the magazine's website. Since 2005, I have been a freelancer for the Chicago Sun-Times' Features department. I have a band called Ping which plays original rock and roll music, and have recently played in the pit bands for regional musical theater productions of Godspell and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. I work with other area musicians in my mixing and mastering studio, called The Happy Club. My day job, however, is reviewing science mission proposals for NASA. I live in Wheaton with my wife and our two dangerous daughters.
