Eileen Higgins, Neighbor

I come from the rocky coast of Maine.  I have a B.A. from Colby College in Maine and an M.A. in Library Science from the University of Chicago.  I've been a reference librarian in Glen Ellyn for almost 16 very gratifying years.  I think I can speak for all my colleagues here when I say that we consider the public library the last  bastion of democracy  as well as an educational resource to be treasured.    I'm hoping this column will elicit comments from the public so that we can do our best to serve the community.

I have a wonderful husband and three grown children, who don't read as much as I'd like.
