When is Tonight's Presidential Debate?

The final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22.

The third and final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney is set for 8 p.m CST on Monday, Oct. 22.  AOL will provide a live stream of the debate. Roskam Declines Invitation to Candidate Forum Hosted by Patch, League of Women Voters

Rep. Peter Roskam is unable to attend Patch, League of Women Voters candidate forum due to a prior commitment.

Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) on Friday notified the League of Women Voters (LWV) of the Palatine Area he will not be able to attend an Oct. 11 candidate forum in Palatine because of a previous commitment. Last month, Patch partnered with the LWV to invite candidates in the Illinois 6th Congressional District race to a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at Palatine Village Hall. The invitation was the group's second attempt to host such a debate, after Rep. Roskam was unable to attend the Oct. 4 event. Candidate Leslie Coolidge (D-Barrington) previously accepted the Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 invitations. Patch, League of Women Voters Invite Roskam, Coolidge to Candidate Forum

Patch has partnered with the Palatine-area League of Women Voters to host a candidate forum for the 6th Congressional District race on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Palatine.

Patch has partnered with the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area to invite candidates in the Illinois 6th Congressional District race to a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at Palatine Village Hall. The invitation is the group's second attempt to host such a debate, after Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) was unable to attend the Oct. 4 event. Candidate Leslie Coolidge (D-Barrington) previously accepted the Oct. 4 invitation and has accepted the Oct. 11 invitation. The Roskam for Congress campaign staff indicated the original date was during the time the House Majority Leader asked representatives to serve in Washington DC. To the Editor: The great American job creation machine is stalled.  The headline 8.1 percent unemployment rate, which is “adjusted”, understates the un-adjusted 15 percent U6 unemployment rate.  To get Americans working again, we need to send people like Peter Roskam to Washington. He understands that over-regulation by the Federal government is restraining job growth. Peter Roskam voted for the Red Tape Reduction Act, to help small businesses reduce burdensome regulatory compliance. He is an influential member of the House Ways and Means Committee, responsible for tax reform to help small and large companies become more globally competitive. We are living in very precarious times, where selfish desires and attention-seeking behavior seem to take precedence in Washington.  Humility and principled behavior just don’t seem to be qualities many of our public officials possess.  And the consequences are costly on many levels.
