Wheaton Municipal Candidate Petitions Available Aug. 28

Petitions for candidacy in the 2013 Wheaton municipal election will be available Aug. 28 at City Hall. Two current City Council members have confirmed they will run for re-election.

Petitions for candidacy in the 2013 Wheaton municipal election will be available Tuesday, Aug. 28 in the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. in Wheaton, according to a message from the city. One four-year position for each of the City’s four Districts—North, South, East and West—is up for election (see map). Terms expire in 2013 for Councilman Tom Mouhelis, East District; Councilman John Rutledge, South District; Councilman Todd Scalzo, West District; and Councilman Phil Suess, North District. Todd Scalzo announced his re-election campaign at Cosley Zoo's "Run for the Animals." Phil Suess confirmed Wednesday he plans to run for re-election in the North District.
