Warren's Ale House is now open at 51 Town Square in Wheaton, run by the same family that operates Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn.
The owners of Ellyn’s Tap & Grill have opened their second restaurant, Warren's Ale House, at 51 Town Square in Wheaton, with plans to take the traditional American pub menu up a notch. The Hernandez family grew up in the restaurant industry. Working at their father's Mexican restaurants, George, Jerry and Leticia Hernandez learned the ins and outs of running an establishment. Brothers George and Jerry started with Ellyn's as kind of an experiment, Jerry said. "It took off from there," he said, with positive feedback and a lot of regulars and families. The owners of Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn are opening a new restaurant, Warren's Ale House, at 51 Town Square in Wheaton, with an opening date set for Monday, Jan. 14, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. Wheaton residents can expect a few major business openings in 2013, including Mariano's Fresh Market, Walgreens, two restaurants and more.
As we head into the new year, Wheaton residents can expect quite a few new businesses to pop up around town. Arguably the biggest development underway is Mariano's Fresh Market at 625 Main St., the former Hubble/Wheaton Central school site. Developers predict the store will open in October 2013. Bricks Pizza, set to open this fall and delayed to mid-December, should open early 2013 and Warren's Ale House, also set to open in fall 2012, should also be open early in the new year. Aveda, 109 N. Main St. should open in 2013 after a few delays in fall 2012. City officials say Aveda owners still have not obtained their building permit. Wheaton City Council will vote on a liquor license for Warren's Ale House after liquor commissioners approved a recommendation for the new bar and restaurant in Town Square.
The liquor license for Warren's Ale House, a new bar and grill opening in Wheaton in the fall, will be up for approval at the Aug. 6 City Council meeting after the city's liquor commissioners voted in favor of the license on July 19. The full-service restaurant and pub will open in the 7,000-square-foot, former Red Robin space at 51 Town Square in Wheaton.
