Don't Turn Your Back: Cell Phone, Bike Thefts Reported

Wheaton police reports, May 14-15

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 Someone took two unsecured mountain bikes from a woman's yard on the 600 block of East Parkway, police said. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on this day while the bikes were learned against the side of the house. The bikes have a combined value of $520, according to a police report. OMG PD: Magic-Marker Threat, Apartment Climbing

Here's a round-up of recent, bizarre police report items from the area.

NAPERVILLE A woman who moved out of an apartment in the 200 block of East Bailey Road two months ago returned to the apartment May 15 and asked the property manager if she could get her belongings. She was told by the property manager that the apartment was cleaned out and she was not allowed to enter, police said. A resident then saw the woman scale the balconies to get to her old apartment on the third floor, but she was not able to gain entry, police said. CLARENDON HILLS An apartment tenant on the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue wrote in magic marker on his door that "any trespassers will be shot," according to a police report. Teens Charged With Drugs, Reckless Conduct: Police Blotter

Wheaton police report juvenile arrests, March 11-17 and adult arrests, March 20-21.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21 Police charged Felipe Quebedo, 36, of the 1300 block of North Main Street in Wheaton, with a warrant related to driving on a revoked license. He was arrested at home around 12:45 p.m. and released that afternoon. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20 Police charged David Cardenas, 22, of the 300 block of Ramblewood Drive in Glen Ellyn, with driving on a suspended license. He drove a green 1995 Pontiac near the intersection of President Street and Wigtown Court around midnight when police stopped him. FRIDAY, MARCH 8 Police charged a 14-year-old boy with theft at Wheaton Warrenville South High School. MONDAY, MARCH 4 Police charged a 16-year-old boy with battery at Wheaton Warrenville South High School.  FRIDAY, MARCH 1 Police charged a 12-year-old boy with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon at Franklin Middle School. FRIDAY, MARCH 8 A woman at 12:09 p.m. reported that someone damaged the mailbox and mailbox post in front of her residence on the 1900 block of Sherwood Place. The damage occurred sometime between 6 p.m. March 7 and 6:30 a.m. March 8. She did not have any suspect information and does not suspect the plows from the recent snowstorm were the cause. An officer who examined the post and mailbox determined they were both struck by a blunt object. There were no footprints in the snow near the mailbox and post. The mailbox is valued at $150. SATURDAY, MARCH 2 A woman reported at 4:11 p.m. that a snowblower was missing from a shed on the 1300 block of South Lorraine Road. On March 1, a building owner contacted her and requested that the snow be removed from the parking lot of the building. When she went to the shed where the snowblower was stored, it was gone. TUESDAY, JAN. 15 Someone stole a $200 bike locked to a rack at the Front Street train depot between 7:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Police charged Andres Ramirez, 39, of Addison with driving on a suspended license and an FTA warrant near the intersection of Blanchard Street and College Avenue. SUNDAY, DEC. 16 Someone stole medication from a store in the 1400 block of Roosevelt Road around 5 p.m. Police said a man entered the business around 4:45 p.m., filled a backpack with over-the-counter medications and left without paying. When confronted outside the store, he dropped a shopping bag with stolen items and ran.
