Your Thanksgiving football could be shirts-and-skins as temperatures will remain remarkably warm throughout this week.
Call it global warming, call it coincidence, but even as we march towards the end of November—a time for snow, some might say!—we are instead seeing temperatures that look more like outdoor-sports weather. If your Thanksgiving Day plans involve football in a Wheaton park, you will likely be enjoying some quite warm weather for the season; don't wear more than a T-shirt. The DuPage County Health Department offers tips to avoid illness with safe food preparation this Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is Thursday and the DuPage County Health Department urges residents to handle food safely to prevent foodborne illnesses. The improper thawing, storing, cooking and serving of roast turkey, along with improper or lack of hand washing, can lead to the growth of harmful bacteria like salmonella, according to a release from the health department. Town Square Wheaton will kick off the holiday shopping season with extended hours Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25.
Town Square Wheaton will kick off the holiday shopping season with extended hours on Black Friday and the rest of the weekend. Stores will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
