Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 24 this year, two days after Thanksgiving. It is a day for everyone to support the small businesses that their community thrives on. American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get exposure during the holiday season, when they might be otherwise overlooked. With retailers buzzing around the holidays, it is important to support local small businesses that rely on their neighbors in order to continue prospering and building the local economy in Wheaton. While Anna Davidson was working for a catering firm in Geneva several years ago, the seeds were planted. One day, she wanted to have her own restaurant/catering business. On and off for years, she had been thinking about opening her own restaurant, but either the right space wasn’t available or the timing didn’t seem right. Then, after quitting her job over the summer and taking time to re-evaluate things, she began to consider opening a restaurant in the former Bells & Whistles location in downtown Glen Ellyn.
