UPDATE: Man Charged With Shooting Ex-Girlfriend's Mom in Wheaton

The Lombard man is being held on $1 million bond after allegedly shooting ex-girlfriend's mother at a home in Wheaton, according to the DuPage State's Attorney.

Updated 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 Markeith Williams, 19, of Lombard faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm after he allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend's mother at a home in Wheaton Tuesday night, according to a press release from DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. Williams texted his ex around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to tell her he was going to "shoot up her house," according to the release. The Daily Herald reports Williams made the threat after an argument about a joint bank account he shared with his ex-girlfriend. Later that night, officials said he drove past the girl's house in Wheaton, rolled down the window and fired one shot, hitting his ex-girlfriend's mother in the shoulder.
