A visitation for Roger Oslund of Wheaton will be held on Friday, January 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
Obituary courtesy of Hultgren Funeral Home: Roger I. Oslund, age 78, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 19, after a very brief battle with cancer. He was born February 5, 1934 in Chicago to Ragnar and Mildred Oslund. Roger graduated from Niles High School in 1952. In 1953 Roger enlisted in the United States Navy as an equipment Patternmaker. He graduated as class Honor Man and was assigned to the USS Bryce Canyon AD 36 Destroyer Tender repair ship. He served in the Navy for four years. His experience in the Navy led him to study mechanical engineering at Northwestern University where he graduated in 1961. He worked for Teletype Corporation in Skokie and later Lucent Technologies…
