Police: 'Suspicious' Man Enters Home, Tells Couple He Had Wrong Address
Man walks into home while residents are home, says he had the wrong address.
A couple filed a suspicious person report with Wheaton police after a man walked into their home in the 500 block of South West Street around 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. A resident reported she and her husband were at home Monday night when they heard the turn of the doorknob at their back door. Her husband jumped from the couch as the door opened and found a man standing in the mudroom, police said. The man told the resident, "Oh, this is the wrong house, I thought it was another (address)," police said. The man left after the husband told him it wasn't the right address. The address the man gave does not exist, according to the police report. The man is described as about 6 feet, average build, in his mid-20s with lightly-colored facial …

This kid actually could be telling the truth. my goofy son in his 20's did this in Elmhurst where we live last year and one of his equally spacey friends did it here a couple of weeks ago. Simple mistake of not going to the right house of a casual friend.While it made us laugh and do an OMG!! when we heard these stories, it's just one more reason to lock your doors and close your garages people!! more ›
