Year-over-year, Wheaton saw strong growth in the number of homes sold during the month of April. The median home price also increased moderately, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.
The 54 single, detached homes sold in Wheaton during April 2013 represented a 50 percent increase over April 2012, when 36 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 44 homes sold in Wheaton during March. Both the number of homes sold and sales prices increased in Wheaton. The median home price showed moderate gains in April. The median price increased 12.1 percent to $207,450 from $185,000 in April 2012. Sales of single-family, detached homes in suburban Chicago increased 33.2 percent in April 2013 compared with the same period a year ago, MORe reported. Sales in DuPage County, were notable, as well. The 44 homes sold in Wheaton during March 2013 represented a 25.7 percent increase over March 2012, when 35 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 28 homes sold in Wheaton during February. As the number of homes sold increased, the median price of homes sold in March also increased in Wheaton. The median price rose 13.5 percent to $324,000 from $285,500 in March 2012.
