St. Francis Volleyball Team Wins 3A State Title

The St. Francis girls volleyball team wins the ninth state title for the Spartans, the first since 2006.

It was a welcome victory for the Falcons, who came into the contest with a 1-3 record over the past two weeks. The win also avenaged a loss to the Tigers earlier this season. "We had a rough game against West Aurora (last Thursday), so it was really nice to get this one," said Drabant, who added 12 digs and two serving aces. Drabant recorded three of …

The accolades keep pouring in for Wheaton Warrenville South senior middle hitter Shealyn Kolosky. No matter what type of prep volleyball-related lists newspapers and websites compile—top area players, top state players or top college recruits—chances are very good Kolosky will be on the list. For example, Kolosky has been: listed on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Under Armour Girls High School all-America Watch List, named one of the top 50 players in the Chicago area by a the Chicago Sun Times, named PrepVolleyball.com's list of top players in Illinois, and listed among the top 12 volleyball players in DuPage County by The Daily Herald.
