Wheaton Man Arrested for Firing a Gunshot Into Hale St. Home

A Wheaton man fired a gunshot into a home in the 400 block of Hale Street Wednesday night from a house at 423 Wheaton Avenue.

No one was hurt when a Wheaton man fired a shot into a home in the 400 block of Hale Street at around 10:30 Wednesday night. According to a Friday press release from Wheaton police, a resident reported that a bullet entered their home and travelled through a bedroom where one family member was sleeping.  Police determined that the shot was fired from 423 S. Wheaton Ave. and arrested 35-year-old John Exiner. Exiner was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was transferred to the DuPage County Jail Friday, where he is held with a bond of $30,000. Patch reports on law enforcement activity in our town, using information provided by official agencies.
