Elmhurst College Class of 2012 Lists Some Pretty Impressive Honors and Degrees

More than 700 new graduates take the walk at Elmhurst College commencement.

More than 600 students were awarded bachelor's degrees at Elmhurst College's 2012 commencement ceremony, and 92 earned master's degrees. Each graduate received his or her diploma from S. Alan Ray, Elmhurst College’s 13th president and chairman of the Elmhurst College Board of Trustees. Alumna Rita Athas, Class of ’76 and president of World Business Chicago, delivered the commencement address titled “Endless Possibilities.” Athas also is professor and director of the college’s Center for Business and Economics. Elmhurst College Students Named to the Dean's List for the Fall Term

Students earned a 3.75 or higher grade-point average.

Elmhurst College has released its dean’s list for the fall term of the 2011-2012 academic year. Students attained a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher out of a possible 4.0.

Christie, in his rally for presidential candidate Mitt Romney at Elmhurst College, uses examples from his home state to illustrate what can happen for the country as a whole.

Drawing on stories of his triumphs as a Republican governor challenged by a Democratic legislature in New Jersey, Chris Christie, on behalf of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, rallied a group of about 400 people at Elmhurst College Friday afternoon. "There are going to be some skeptics and cynics that say Washington, D.C., is so fatally broken that we can't (fix it), we can't change minds," he said. House Speaker Michael Madigan Says He Was 'One of Many' Who Signed Off on Overspending

Legislator makes rare public address at Elmhurst College Government Forum.

Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan said the state has a long way to go to get out of its current financial hole. However, he said legislators made a good start last year by cutting Gov. Pat Quinn’s proposed budget by $2 billion. Madigan made a rare public address to a forum at Elmhurst College and outlined some of the fiscal challenges facing the state, but he offered few election year remedies. Tuesday’s event was the fifth annual governmental forum held at Elmhurst College. Madigan used broad strokes to outline some of the economic concerns facing Illinois, including pension reform, state budget, workers compensation, unemployment and educational reform. They over-shadowed everything in town including the YMCA where I hung out a lot! Arrogant assholes!!! Too bad things work the way they do in this country! None of the brothers were worth a crap!!
