District 200 Approves Budget

Wheaton-Warrenville District 200 board passes balanced budget for the 2012-13 school year.

The Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education Wednesday approved a balanced operating budget for the 2012-13 school year Anticipated expenditures total $149,133,590 and revenues total $149,133,750 for the 2012-13 school year. The 2012-13 budget represents a 1.8% increase from last year. The operating budget does not include Site & Construction funds (Capital Projects) or Bond & Interest funds. The board and staff attribute the balanced budget to several factors but especially to successful, collaborative bargaining agreements with teachers and support staff, according to a press release from the district. District 200 to Host 2012-13 Budget Hearing

The budget hearing for the 2012-13 school year is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Warrenville.

The District 200 Board of Education will hold its public hearing on the budget for the 2012-13 year at its meeting at Bower Elementary School Wednesday night. District officials expect to post a balanced budget, up 2.47 percent from FY12. Projected operating revenues and expenditures are $150,116,590, excluding Bond & Interest and Site & Construction figures, Bill Farley, assistant superintendent for business operations told board members at a July 18 meeting. The district has negotiated contract renewals with First Student Transportation, GCA Custodial Services and Veolia Waste Removal at no extra cost, according to the District 200 website. The tentative District 200 budget for fiscal year 2013 is available for public viewing. The district will hold a public hearing on the budget Sep. 12.

District officials expect to post a balanced budget, up 2.47 percent from FY12. Projected operating revenues and expenditures are $150,116,590, excluding Bond & Interest and Site & Construction figures, Bill Farley, assistant superintendent for business operations told board members at a meeting Wednesday night. The budget is on display at the School Service Center, the Wheaton, Warrenville, Winfield and Carol Stream public libraries and on the District 200 website.
