Central DuPage Hospital Named One of Nation's Top 100 Hospitals

Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals after Truven Health Analytics study.

Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) in Winfield has been named one of the top 100 hospitals in the country in 2013 by Truven Health Analytics. Truven Health Analytics on Monday released its 20th annual study identifying the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance. This is the sixth year in the past seven years CDH has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Truven, according to a CDH news release.  “CDH being named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the country is a direct reflection of the commitment our employees have for providing patients with high-quality, compassionate care,” CDH President Brian Lemon said in a statement. Ronald McDonald House to Open in Winfield

Ronald McDonald House to open in Winfield in partnership with Cadence Health.

Crews have broken ground on the new Ronald McDonald House in Winfield near Central DuPage Hospital, the Daily Herald reports. The nonprofit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana has partnered with Cadence Health to build its fifth house to support families of hospitalized children.  The new house will have up to 12 private guest rooms with private baths, and will be designed to create a "home away from home" atmosphere for guests, according to the Ronald McDonald House website. Change Your Facebook Photo to Give $1 to Breast Cancer Organization

Cadence Health will donate $1 to Bright Pink, a nonprofit focused on early detection and prevention of breast cancer, for every person who changes their cover photo to one from its Facebook page.

To honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cadence Health is teaming up with Bright Pink, a nonprofit that focuses on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women and provides support for high-risk women. Cadence Health has two comprehensive breast health centers at Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) and four satellite locations, offering advanced digital mammography for faster test results. Cadence will donate $1 to Bright Pink for every person who downloads one of its cover photos on Facebook. Wheaton Man Named New CEO at Cadence Health

Cadence Health has named Michael Vivoda of Wheaton as its new chief executive officer. Vivoda is president of Central DuPage Hospital, and will succeed retiring CEO Luke McGuinness July 1, the Chicago Tribune reports.

State to Review Plan for $27 Million Expansion to DuPage Hospital

Expansion plans include 25 more beds for the mental health and intensive care units.

Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting that Cadence Health has applied to the state to increase the number of beds at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield by 8 percent, to 338. Cadence has filed an application with the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, which regulates medical construction. According to Crain’s, the $27 million project also includes moving outpatient behavioral health programs closer to the hospital's mental health unit and building out additional offices for physicians and administrators. The 25-bed expansion would increase the size of the mental health and intensive care units.

'Cadence' Is Official New Name of Delnor/CDH Brand

A press release issued today (Jan. 9) confirms that Delnor and Central DuPage Hospitals are marching to a new "Cadence." The brand is meant to differentiate the health system as integrated and locally focused.

Delnor Health System (Delnor) and Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) announced Monday that "Cadence Health" is the new name of the locally based health system created through their March 2011 merger. "The 'Cadence' name speaks to the reliability and consistency the health system demonstrates every day in providing patients with excellent, compassionate care," the release says. The combined health system, first announced on Oct. 5, 2010, will bring high quality, advanced, efficient care to a patient population of more than 1 million in Chicago's western suburbs.
