Butterfield Construction: Lanes to Shift Today

Westbound traffic on Butterfield Road will switch to two new lanes.

The contractor for the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Butterfield Road widening project plans to begin moving traffic over to the new lanes between Naperville Road and Wiesbrook Road starting this afternoon and into this evening, according to a release from the City of Wheaton. Westbound traffic on Butterfield Road will switch to the two new lanes. Eastbound traffic will remain only one lane until crews complete pavement striping late next week, at which point a second lane will be open. Weather permitting, the contractor plans to place the final surface on Naperville Road during the last week in November. All lanes on Naperville Road will reopen, and the intersection of Naperville Road and Butterfield will be complete. The wiring…

The project is now going to run through the next construction season. As a “soccer mom” who lives and works in Wheaton, I cannot get around to run routine errands, get to kid’s sports fields or get to the grocery store in a timely manner.
