Retired Appellate Court Justice Appointed to Serve as Interim DuPage County State's Attorney
Michael Galasso, a former Illinois Appellate Court 2nd Justice, was appointed as the DuPage County State's Attorney this morning.
Michael Galasso, former Illinois Appellate Court 2nd Justice, was selected to serve as the DuPage County State's Attorney this morning by DuPage County Chief Judge Stephen Culliton. Culliton selected Galasso to fill the State's Attorney position as former state's attorney Joe Birkett was sworn in as an Appellate Court Justice. Galasso will serve as State's Attorney until Dan Cronin, DuPage County Board Chairman, announces tomorrow morning that he has nominated Robert Berlin, the Chief of the Criminal Bureau for the DuPage County State's Attorney's office, to serve the remainder of Joe Birkett's term, which ends in November 2012.
