Wheaton VFW Post 2164 organizes blood drives, lobbies elected officials to support veterans and participates in such organizations as National Volunteer Week, Toys for Tots, Make a Difference Day and March of Dimes.
It also acts as a VA liaison for veterans seeking a wide range of problems including receiving support and military awards. There are four Veterans Homes for the disabled and elderly located throughout Illinois, some of which are equipped for Alzheimer patients. Its mission is to bring quality live theater to the community, and to participate in civic, charitable and outreach programs for the greater Wheaton area. Membership is open to the public, and participants are expected to contribute time in support of the club's performances. The organization also offers educational programs and workshops for residents interested in all facets of theater, including production, performance and children's summer programs.
