<p>Wheaton Warrenville South High School's history dates 124 years, when it was called Wheaton High School. The school was renamed in 1925 to Wheaton Community High School and again in 1964, to Wheaton Central. The current location on Wiesbrook Road was opened in 1973 and operated as Wheaton-Warrenville High School. In 1983, it became Wheaton Warrenville Middle School and in 1992, Wheaton Central moved into the former Wheaton-Warrenville High School location, as the two schools became Wheaton Warrenville South High School.</p>
<p>Wheaton Warrenville South High School is known for its successes in academics, athletics, arts and extracurriculars. As of the 2009-10 season, its football team has won six State Championships, the sixth highest total in state history. As of the 2008-09 season, the boys volleyball team set the state record for most championship titles, also with six State Championships. </p> <p> </p>
