Download Some of Your Favorite Songs with Freegal provided by WPL

Do you love music?  Do you love free stuff?  Then you’re gonna love Freegal Music, the newest download service offered by the Wheaton Public Library!  With your Wheaton library card and your PIN, you can access thousands of songs, sample them, download them and keep them.

You can download songs to the Freegal Music app or to your computer.  You can download three songs a week, starting every Monday.  This has been the hardest part for me!!!  I have a wish list that keeps growing!

If you download the songs using the app, you have to play them through the app.  If you download the songs on your computer, then you can save them and transfer them to wherever you want them to be.

I have had a lot of fun finding songs that I grew up with as well as current songs.  Freegal Music doesn’t have everything but it has quite a bit.  Sometimes I can find an album by an artist that has every song available for download and sometimes only four songs (and maybe not the hits) are available.  Sometimes it’s a karaoke version or a “in the style of” version.  And in my opinion, the search and browse features are not up to this librarian’s standards but if you’re willing to play around with it, I think you will find more than enough music to enjoy this download service from the library!
