College Prep at Wheaton Public Library

Getting ready for college? WPL can help! The library has several informative programs coming up for high school students and their parents, as well as many great online resources. Attend one of our ACT/SAT Practice Exams or practice online on your own with Learning Express Library. Check out one of the upcoming scholarship/financial aid events or do your own research with Ferguson's Career Guidance Center. All About Scholarships 
Tuesday, March 4 from 7-8:30pm
This presentation introduces students to the process of applying for scholarships. The basics of filling out an application and tips from successful applicants are included. Presented by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, this program integrates high school resources and offers other reputable information sources. Register now.

Career Readiness Before College: Linking Majors to Promising Careers 
Sunday, March 9 from 2:30-4pm
College is too important and too expensive to have your child "meander" through it! Learn why early career exploration is not only crucial but fun, as well as the steps to take even BEFORE you begin looking at colleges. Register now.

Managing College Costs 
Tuesday, March 18 from 7-8:30pm
The goal of this presentation is to get students thinking about a college budget. Topics include planning college financing, creating a strategy for saving money without letting academics suffer, working on campus, and scholarships. Register now.
