Jazz Bands at Wheaton North - 2014

2014 has been a busy year for the Wheaton North High School jazz bands.

The season started on a high note at the Jazz Café on February 3rd.  This event held at the high school showcased the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Jazz Combos in a "club-like" atmosphere.

Next up were performances at Mullen's in Lisle on February 13th and 20th.  The Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble each took a turn as the opening act for the Pete Ellman Big Band.  The students did a great job performing and also enjoyed listening to a professional band in person.

On February 22nd, the Jazz Ensemble competed in the 29th Annual Jazz in the Meadows competition at Rolling Meadows High School.

The jazz season will conclude with the 9th Annual Swing Dance on Saturday, April 12th at Wheaton North High School.  The dance will feature all the high school jazz bands as well as the jazz bands from Franklin and Monroe middle schools.  The event will be from 7 - 10pm.  Tickets can be purchased in advance.  $22 for VIP tickets (must pre-purchase; includes dinner); $12 for adults; $8 for students and seniors.  Limited tickets are available at the door and the price will be $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased from Jazz Band members or by calling Judi Gonzalez at 630-682-8619.
