Whiz Kids: Boy Scouts Troop 35

Boy scouts raise money selling holiday greenery.

Boy Scout Troop 35 of Wheaton is once again gearing up for its holiday wreath and greenery sales. Troop 35 has been selling the holiday favorites for more than 25 years. They will have some new products this year including boxwood wreaths, spruce tops and mailbox swags.

The Troop kicks off their sales by participating in the on Friday, Nov. 25. You can also visit them at Gary United Methodist Church on the following dates: Friday and Saturday, November 25-26th 9am-4pm, Sunday, November 27th 10am-4pm and Saturday 12/3 9am-4pm.

Their largest retail location is at the Danada East Shopping Center in front of . The  Troop has increased the  hours this year to include some nighttime hours. The times include:

  • Sunday, Dec. 4 10am-4pm

This is the sole fundraiser for the Scouts and funds are used to help fund leadership/camping adventures. Troop 35 is one of Wheaton’s oldest troops and is preparing to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in 2012.
