Name: Ethan Sebela Colangelo,
Key to Awesomeness:
Ethan Sebela Colangelo, 12, raised $150 to buy food and supplies to donate to People's Resource Center () during Make A Difference Day last weekend.
Sebela Colangelo is involved in his church youth group, he is the first chair in Hubble's 6th grade orchestra, and he devotes his time to volunteerism in and outside of the classroom.
With the assignment to do something charitable in the community for his 6th grade social studies class, Sebela Colangelo researched PRC and found their list of most needed items. He noted what those were—items including diapers and paper bags—and used the money he had raised to fill up on them, said his mother, Vicki Sebela.
"I was impressed with his diligence about it," Sebela said. "He took the time to do it and do it right."
Sebela Colangelo volunteers for Feed My Starving Children and saves toys each year to donate to Operation Chistmas Child, an annual holiday gift drive that sends shoeboxes full of toys and gifts to children around the world.
His desire to help others is "part of who he's becoming," Sebela said. "I love that he knows to give to other people."
