‘Wheaton’s Got Talent’ Fundraiser Planned for Wheaton Grand Restoration

Organizers hope that the talent show will raise an extra $20,000 to $30,000 toward the project to fix up the historic City theater.

The Grand Theatre Corporation working to restore the Wheaton Grand Theater is planning an inaugural “Wheaton’s Got Talent” event and talent show for Nov. 30 at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School to fundraise for the project, the Suburban Life reports

According to the paper, the event is still in the planning stage, but Wheaton-area residents would audition first through YouTube and then in front of a panel of judges, before Oct. 15; the talent show would be in addition to an ongoing raffle and would hopefully raise another $20,000 to $30,000 for the restoration.

“It came out of our social media… a lot of people were throwing out ideas and a lot came in, but we thought this could raise money and awareness,” Grand Theater Corporation project manager Rick Erickson told the paper.
