Wheaton Volunteer, 95, Recognized for 50 Years of Service

Winifred Blewitt has put in about $140,000 worth of service to the facility.

Wheaton resident Winifred Blewitt, 95, has spent half a century volunteering at the DuPage Convalescent Center — putting in an estimated 6,300 hours of service, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Wheaton facility recently recognized Blewitt for her 50 years of service, beginning as a "friendship visitor" and eventually launching a ceramics program that is still going today, the Tribune reports.
