Wheaton Lions turn in Used Eyeglasses, Keys and Hearing Aids

Lions gather more than 1,500 items for hearing and seeing impaired.

The Wheaton Lions Club, a volunteer organization helping the hearing and sight impaired, recently gathered six months worth of items that were collected in various drop locations and turned them in to the Lions of Illinois Foundation. They will be used to help people in need throughout the state. Lion Tamer Edward R. Lambke, who heads up our collection efforts, delivered: 

  • 492 Plastic Frames with Lens
  • 8 Cell Phones 
  • 1,067 Metal Frames with Lens Miscellaneous Hearing Aid devices 
  • 38 pounds of metal keys
