Wheaton Warrenville South Falls in Class 7A Football Playoffs

Downers Grove North's Trojans defeat the Tigers 10-7 Friday during the second round of playoffs.

With less than a minute remaining, Downers Grove North’s Michael Dashut intercepted a Wheaton Warrenville South pass to the end zone, assuring the Trojans of a 10-7 win over the Tigers, the Chicago Tribune reports.


The at-home loss by 8-3 Wheaton Warrenville South came in the second round of the Class 7A playoffs, setting the stage for Downers Grove North to advance to the next week’s third round quarterfinals. Mount Carmel will play host to the 7-4 Trojans in that contest.


Friday’s game saw the Tigers lose Zack Moberg, who was carried from the field with an apparent broken arm, according to the Tribune.
