Wheaton North Runner Signs on to Run at Illinois State

Wheaton North graduate Aidan Askin signs with Illinois State University to run Cross Country and Track and Field.

High School graduate Aidan Askin has signed a national letter of intent to run cross country at Illinois State University (ISU), according to the school's athletics website.

Askin signed with personal-best times of 4:15.98 in the 1,600-meter run, 9:28.70 in the 3,200-meter run and 15:04.00 in a three-mile run.

The Illinois State coach Elvis Forde said Askin fills "two pieces of the puzzle" with experience in both Cross Country and Track and Field, according to the ISU website.

He was named to the All Conference Cross Country team his junior and senior years, and All Conference track team his senior year. He competed in the state Cross Country competitions his sophomore, junior and senior years, and in the state track competition his junior and senior years.
