Viewfinder: Wheaton United High School Girls Lacrosse

The best of soccer, hockey and basketball rolled into one

Girls Lacrosse is alive and well in Wheaton.  WWS-WN United is a co-op of Wheaton Warrenville South and Wheaton North High Schools.  As a club sport, they do not receive funding from the schools and must pay for their own uniforms and other equipment.

United has its roots in a club team formed at WWS six years ago.  Four years ago, girls from WWS and WN joined forces to form United.  As a member of the Illinois High School Women's Lacrosse Association, United has steadily improved over the last three years, from making the playoffs for the first time three years ago to winning their first playoff game two years ago.  Last year, United advanced to the third round of the playoffs.

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in Illinois and watching this game against Naperville North, it is not hard to see why.
