Rams Runners Up in 133lb NFC Gold Super Bowl Championship

Wheaton Rams football team plays close matchup in youth Super Bowl.

The Wheaton Rams Football 133lb NFC Gold team played in its Super Bowl Saturday at Benedictine University in Lisle and after a close first half, the Rams fell to the Bartlett Raiders 20-6.

The Rams went into the game with only one loss on the record, which was to the undefeated Raiders earlier in the season.

The Rams scored late in the 1st quarter on a 4th and 14 play on the 20-yard line. Quarterback Steele Graham rolled out under pressure and hit wide receiver Blaze Barista in the corner for a toe-touching touchdown. The Bartlett Raiders came back to tie it up at 6-6, late in the 3rd quarter and took the lead with 4:50 left in the game and eventually go onto win 20-6 with an additional late score with one minute remaining.

The Rams are coached by Ken Selle, Mike Cetina, Rob Sheridan, Norm Webber, Leo Gubenko and Dave Anthony. 

Fifteen of the Rams' players will go on to play high school football at Wheaton Warrenville South High School, Wheaton North High School and Wheaton Academy. Five of the team's seventh graders will return to the team next season.
