Kemp Mill Swim Team Lap-a-thon

The Kemp Mill Swim Club's swim team plans to swim 2,500 laps Tuesday, July 17, to taise funds to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fight blood cancers.

The swim team hopes to raise $2,500. To help, yu can donate directly on the swim team’s web site at teamunify.com/recmcslkmk and click on the big green “donate” button.

Or come to the lap-a-thon and make a pladeg as the swimmers are swimming.

More than 100,000 cases of blood, bone marrow, and lymph node cancers are diagnosed in the United States, and more than 50,000 people die each year from these cancers.


Among children and teens less than 20 years old, leukemia is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death.

And it’s personal for the Kemp Mill Swim Team.

Even if you don’t make a donation today, you can help by counting laps or being a relief swimmer or cheering wildly at every turn at the end of the pool or buying food from the swim team’s Kangaroo Café or joining in the fun as the winners in the ‘RooBay silent auction are announced at 6 PM.
