George Doran, a senior at Wheaton Warrenville South, capped an illustrious high school diving career by finishing second at the state finals Saturday in Winnetka.
Doran, who two years ago became the first diver in the history of the Wheaton Co-op swimming and diving team to earn a state medal, scored 462.45 points. Kegan Skelton of Champaign Centennial won the championship with 487.85.
“Any time you go out with a second place in the state meet you’ve got to be happy,” Doran said. “I was happy with how I performed. I didn’t make any major mistakes. It’s been a really great experience.”
