Cubs Outfielder Moves to Wheaton

David DeJesus, the new outfielder for the Chicago Cubs, buys a house in Wheaton, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Chicago Cubs signed right fielder David DeJesus to a two-year contract with the option for a third year Wednesday, according to a Cubs press release. 

In the offseason, he lives in Wheaton, where he closed on a 6,000-square-foot brick mansion for $1.05 million Oct. 28, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday

He moved there with his wife, a Wheaton native, and their 18-month-old son, DeJesus told the Tribune.

DeJesus will earn $4.25 million per year, according to MLB.com

DeJesus, 31, played for the Kansas City Royals from 2003-2010 and the Oakland Athletics in 2011, with a .284 batting average. He has averaged 33 doubles, eight triples, 11 home runs and 70 RBI per 162 games in his career, according to the release.
