Boys Gymnastics: Wheaton Co-op Wins DVC

Darren Fill and Mike Brackmann finish first and second respectively in the all-around to lead the hosts to victory.

The Wheaton co-op boys gymnastics team won Saturday morning’s DuPage Valley Conference meet at Wheaton Warrenville South with a 159.2, easily surpassing the 148.1 posted by runner-up Naperville North.

Darren Fill and Mike Brackmann led the way for the winners. Fill won the still rings, pommel horse, as well as the floor exercise, where he posted a 9.7. He was the all-around champion with a 54.25. Brackmann placed second in the all-around with a 53.45 and won parallel bars with an 8.85.

Wheaton will host the Wheaton Warrenville South sectional at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4. With a victory there, the team would advance to the IHSA state finals on May 13-14.
