Please consider donating your used hearing aids and batteries for the Hear Now campaign

Posted on May 1, 2013 by Dr. Billing To bring awareness of the need for better hearing during National Better Hearing Month, I am accepting used hearing aids and old batteries to donate to the national Hear Now program. Hear Now assists U.S. residents with hearing loss, who have no resources to acquire hearing aids. The Starkey Hearing Foundation provides the hearing aids and runs the program, and audiologists nationwide help contribute to the program by serving as donation centers for the charity. “Any Wheaton or DuPage County area resident who has an old hearing aid or used batteries can come by my office, drop them off,” Billing said, adding that the donations are tax deductible. She has made a number of trips around the world with The Rotary to help others in need and the Hear Now program is consistent with her values of giving back to the community. “It’s true that in times of crisis donations can help those in need around the world but we sometimes forget that there are people in our own town who need help too,” Dr. Billing said. Starkey is a national manufacturer of hearing aid technology. It’s foundation will accept mailed in donations or those dropped off at participating audiologist’s office, such as The Hearing Doctors on 311 S. County Farm Road, Suite D in Wheaton.
