The Wheaton Warrenville South girls varsity golf team lost 171-173 to St. Charles East yesterday, Monday, Oct. 4 at Arrowhead Golf Club. Senior Sarah Skurla led the Tigers with 39 strokes. Sophomore Renee Solberg had 43. Skurla dodged a difficult situation on the 9th hole when she shot from the fairway and the ball went over the green, bounced onto the cart path, hit the clubhouse, bounced back onto the path and then again to the edge of the green for about a 40-foot putt. Yesterday was also the team's senior night, honoring seniors Sarah Skurla, Katie Novosad and Bekah Munday. The Tigers girls golf team will play in the IHSA regionals tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 6 at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago.
