District 200 to Host 2012-13 Budget Hearing

The budget hearing for the 2012-13 school year is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Warrenville.

The District 200 Board of Education will hold its public hearing on the budget for the 2012-13 year at its meeting at Bower Elementary School Wednesday night.

District officials expect to post a balanced budget, up 2.47 percent from FY12. Projected operating revenues and expenditures are $150,116,590, excluding Bond & Interest and Site & Construction figures, Bill Farley, assistant superintendent for business operations told board members at a July 18 meeting.

The district has negotiated contract renewals with First Student Transportation, GCA Custodial Services and Veolia Waste Removal at no extra cost, according to the District 200 website. The proceeds of the will reduce the district's debt service by $5.87 million.

The budget and staff presentation are on display at the , the , Warrenville, Winfield and Carol Stream public libraries and on the District 200 website.

The public hearing on the budget will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 12 at Bower Elementary School, 4S241 River Road, Warrenville. The board will approve the budget Sep. 26.
