Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 said Wednesday they are seeking a 4.81 percent, or $6 million, property tax levy increase but it's much more likely the actually increase will be around 1.7 percent, which is closer to the consumer price index, according to the Daily Herald.
The 1.7 percent increase would mean the average homeowner of a $300,000 home would see about a $90 increase in the "largest portion of their next real estate tax bill in June," according to the article.
