Wheaton North Student Designs Blackhawks-Themed Shoes

Liz Spurlock paints Converse All-Stars with the Blackhawks logo and sells them to fans on Facebook. She has so many orders now, she can barely keep up.

Wheaton North High School freshman Liz Spurlock, 15, designed her first pair of Blackhawk's themed shoes for herself, painting feathers and a tomahawk onto a pair of black Converse All-Stars, according to DNAInfo

Now, she's created a Facebook page called Kustom Team Kicks, where she sells a limited quantity of those shoes to an audience of more than 1,000 fans, DNAInfo reports

A portion of proceeds benefits The Bickell Foundation, founded by Blackhawk Bryan Bickell and his wife Amanda to help pit bulls assist abused children, and the Ross K. MacNeill Foundation, which supports research into pediatric brain cancer.

Visit the Kustom Team Kicks Facebook page to see photos and find out how to order a pair of Blackhawks-themed shoes.
