Wheaton North Runners Raise Money for Fallen Alum

Wheaton North boys cross country team raises $2,000 for Nick Larson Home.

The Wheaton North Boys Cross Country Team will deliver a $2,000 check to the  Marine Lance Corporal Nick Larson was a 2003 graduate of Wheaton North High School and died in combat in Iraq in 2004, according to a press release from District 200.

The team decided that they needed to do something as a group to benefit the community and held a "run for Nick" on Sept. 10. After an hour-long fundraiser for the Nick Larson Home, the boys raised $2,000 in pledges and other donations.

Bob “Doc” Adams, President of the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans said, “We couldn’t be more honored that the students chose our organization to give back to. It really means a lot that the students at Wheaton North are still keeping Nick’s legacy alive.”
