Catherine Trofimuk: I was always interested in a Big Ten school. Illinois happens to have a great education program and what’s better than in-state tuition?

Patch: What is your favorite memory from this year so far?

Trofimuk: Receiving my first college acceptance letter. I literally danced around my kitchen! It was the most amazing feeling to know I was going to college somewhere.

Patch: What’s your favorite memory from all of high school?

Trofimuk: Homecoming! I love getting dressed up and going out with all of my good friends.

Patch: What is the best thing about being a senior?

Trofimuk: No state testing! The Prairie State Exam and ACT killed my junior year!

Patch: What will you miss about high school?

Trofimuk: My friends. I love all of my friends so much and it's going to be hard not waking up and seeing them at 7:00 am every Monday - Friday.

Patch: What won’t you miss about high school?

Trofimuk: Gym class!  When will people in the real world need to know how long I can do the pacer for?

Patch: What are your summer plans?

Trofimuk: I will either be Nannying or hopefully getting a job as a camp counselor. Either way I'll be at the pool!

Patch: What is your favorite activity/club/sport that you participate in?

Trofimuk: Show Choir!  I'm so happy that North created a competitive team my junior year. We have done great at competition and I love singing and dancing!

Patch: What is your advice for the next senior class?

Trofimuk: Get all you college applications done before the deadlines and you will feel great having completed everything.

Patch: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Trofimuk: Hopefully teaching elementary school and enjoying every minute of it. I can’t wait to be called "Ms. T."

Patch: What will you miss most about Wheaton?

Trofimuk: ! I love getting gummy worms and popcorn there!

Patch: “When I visit home, the first thing I’ll do is...”

Trofimuk: Go to the Popcorn Shop! Then possibly go across the street to Yoyo Land.

Patch: What song will always remind you of your senior year?

Trofimuk: Oh this is a hard one. I’d have to say any song that tells you to put your hands in the air. I swear every song from 2010 told you to put your hands in the air!

Patch: Favorite Wheaton hang-out?

Trofimuk: The library. My best friend use to be a member and we would ride bikes down town to the library and just look at books for hours. We were a little too loud at times though.

Patch: Favorite lunch item?

Trofimuk: Well... I was one of the people who couldn't really pack a lunch well, so my favorite item was never from my own lunch. But on occasion I would buy curly fries from school and they are amazing!

Patch: Favorite class you’ve taken so far?

Trofimuk: AP Psychology. It is so cool to learn about how people think. Oh and first semester I had this class with three amazing friends -- all we did was make comments on everything we learned!

Patch: How do you plan on keeping in touch with your high school friends?

Trofimuk: Facebook. I plan on posting many annoying messages on my friends’ walls. I don't know what my life was like before this amazing invention. Thank you Mark Zuckerberg!

Patch: What is your goal for the end of the year? What do you hope to accomplish before graduation?

Trofimuk: Well I'm really hoping I can keep an A in my math class. Pre-Calc is hard!  And mostly I'm hoping to just enjoy my final days as kid!
